We started the CPVA to bring together people working in Calgary's video production industry.

Videographers and video production companies often encounter situations where they need additional support. It might be a production challenge they’ve never seen before, a need for technical assistance, or simply a requirement for a bigger crew.

But without a connection to a wider community of professionals, it’s tough to know who you can count on.

The CPVA began as a way for video professionals to connect in a way that would prove helpful to all of us. To share our knowledge and experience, and offer assistance when required.

We also wanted to establish a way for clients looking for help with a video project to find a production company that’s the right fit.

The barrier to entry in video production is lower than ever, and it can be tough for prospects to know whom they can trust.

So in addition to our directory of video production businesses, the CPVA established a system of certifying videographers and video production companies. Professionally certified CPVA members have met our rigorous standards for technical skill and ethical business practices.

We believe that sharing knowledge and experience benefits us all.
